After many developments including a sale of CityJet to Air France, in May 2014 CityJet was sold to private equity and Pat resumed control as Executive Chairman.

Ground-breaking Plans for Cork
Cork Chamber today strongly welcomed the Government’s announcement of the capital plan and the inclusion of a number of strategic priority road projects for Cork. According to Mr. Barrie O’Connell, President of Cork Chamber, “We are encouraged with today’s announcement that sees the upgrade of the Dunkettle interchange, the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy road and the N22, Cork to Kerry road being acknowledged as nationally significant projects. Purple Flag Award Success for Cork City
Cork City Centre Forum is pleased to announce the success of the recent Cork City Purple Flag Award Application which was submitted on the 10th July 2015 and involved the collaboration and commitment of over forty city centre stakeholders and traders working to achieve this outcome. The application which involved a recent Purple Flag Award assessment undertaken by two representatives from the Purple Flag Academy Programme focused on a review of the evening and night time offering between the hours of 5pm to 5am under the theme areas of Wellbeing, Movement, Appeal, Place and Policy, with the award symbolising a location that offers a well-managed, diverse, entertaining and enjoyable evening and night out.

Successful REMCAP Workshop on Maritime Autonomous Systems
On the 23rd of September the REMCAP Project hosted a workshop in the NMCI, Ringaskiddy. The workshop highlighted existing market innovation priorities in the area of Maritime Autonomous Systems and explored opportunities for consortium building, investment and growth in this area. The workshop was divided into three sessions which focussed on:
1. Monitoring systems for Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal Energy Installations and Aquaculture Installations 2. Surveying & Underwater Inspection 3. The Startup Gathering now has in excess of 360 events registered
The Startup Gathering now has in excess of 360 events registered from over 22 counties across the country. We have launched a national survey for startups in collaboration with Amarach Research. The survey seeks views on a range of topics that concern startups including the support networks currently available to them, as well as asking startups to outline what they think is the single most important thing Ireland could do to enable more startups to start and scale successfully from Ireland. The survey can be completed here. Fermoy International Rally Festival 2015

The Cork 20 Rally will officially launch on Friday 2nd October with a ceremonial start at Pearse Square, Fermoy. The rally will take place over 2 days with approximately 100 crews. The hub of the rally will be the Old Mart car park in Fermoy town centre, where the service area will be stationed and opened to the public. Occurring around the event; organised by associate sponsor of the event, the Fermoy Enterprise Board with the help of local volunteers; will be a town-wide festival with music and family friendly activities all through the weekend.
