Cork Teams Step Up to the Challenge!
Results of the 2015 event show that participants benefited from the challenge in the following ways: Being part of a team (72% of respondents); increased activity (65%) and fitness (55%); feeling good about themselves (53%); boost in staff morale (49%); and reduced stress (20%). In addition, participants made the switch from other modes of transport to walking on the commute.
The Challenge is open to Partners of the National Transport Authority’s Smarter Travel Workplaces and Smarter Travel Campus programmes. Smarter Travel Workplaces and Smarter Travel Campus are free, voluntary programmes to assist workplaces and third level institutions to implement travel plans, or a package of measures to promote walking, cycling, public transport and carsharing on the commute. More information on the programme and on the Step Challenge can be found online.
