Cleantech Mission to Singapore & Vietnam
The “EU Business Avenues” Programme is now inviting applications for a Cleantech Mission to Singapore and Vietnam this coming June. The business mission is aimed at facilitating the entry of EU ‘cleantech’ companies into the Southeast Asian market. The mission offers companies the chance to meet stakeholders and get the benefit of high quality information and coaching services. It is scheduled to take place in Singapore and Vietnam from the 15th-19th June 2015. The deadline for registration is the 23rd January 2015.

91 jobs have been announced in the maritime sector in Cork
Cork Chamber strongly welcomes the announcement this week by Minister Coveney of 91 new jobs for Cork Maritime Sector. Resolute Marine Energy, a Boston-based wave technology developer, is to establish its European headquarters in Cork, creating 80 jobs. Resolve Marine is to increase its workforce in Cork by six people over the next year and Exceedence, a spin-out from University College Cork's Beaufort Research Centre, said it will create five jobs in the area of financial consultancy for the marine renewable energy sector next year. The announcements were made at a one-day conference on the opportunities and challenges ahead for Cork Harbour, which was held at the National Maritime College in Ringaskiddy.

Cork Chamber participates in Resource Efficiency Maritime Capacity (REMCAP) Project Meeting in Toulon
Cork Chamber recognises the vast economic potential of the Maritime Sector for Cork businesses and is currently participating in a European Project funded through the ‘Regions of Knowledge’ Seventh Framework Programme called the Resource Efficiency Maritime Capacity Project (REMCAP). REMCAP is a collaborative project involving 14 partner organisations from six European maritime clusters The main objective of REMCAP is to develop the clusters' ability to promote innovation and enable sustainable growth across the key markets of offshore wind; ocean energy; fishing; aquaculture; blue biotech; aggregates and dredging and sea bed mining. Cork City Centre forum Parking Alerts Go Live
The Forum, which is made up of business owners from across the City, Cork Chamber, the CBA, Cork City Council and An Garda Siochana has launched an information campaign to inform shoppers of available parking in the City over the festive period. The campaign includes live up to date information on available spaces going out on hourly bulletins from both 96FM and Red FM. There is also a dedicated Twitter account, @CorkParking where users can see real time availability.
