North Atlantic Air Connectivity Now a Reality for Cork

Cork Chamber is delighted to welcome Icelandic WOW air to the region following today’s announcement by Cork Airport of a new exciting all year round service between Cork and Reykjavik with onward connection to eight destinations across the US and Canada from May 2017. Commenting on the news, Conor Healy, Cork Chamber CEO, said: “The opening of a direct service between Cork and North America via Reykjavik is a significant boost for Cork Airport and the entire Cork region.” “Not only will this service provide affordable leisure tourism opportunities between the Southern region and exciting Iceland, the route also serves Munster with a direct, low-cost connectivity to North America which has long been a strategic ambition for Cork.“ Read Full Story here.

Keynote Speaker For Dublin Dinner 2016

Date: 8th November Time: 7pm Venue: Double Tree Hilton Hotel Cost: €125 Book: Here Now in its sixth year Cork Chamber's Dublin Dinner has grown to over 550 guests from across the business and political communities of Dublin and Cork providing an opportunity for companies to network and strengthen connections with their peers. The night is also one of celebration where we honour one of Cork’s business leaders with the Outstanding Achievement in Business Award and this year we are delighted to announce Mr. Dick Lehane (EMC) as the recipient. We are also delighted to announce Pat Cox as our keynote speaker on the night, more details to follow.
Cork Chamber will once again partner with EY for this prestigious annual event who are leading the way in establishing the type of business connections this event is promoting. Also with thanks to Kernel Capital as supporters of the Networking Reception.

Since then, Damien and his business partner Greg Duggan have launched WheyHey, a high-protein, sugar free ice cream.
Last year, WheyHey ice cream sold more than 1million pots in Europe and is set to sell 4 million this year and double again in 2017. WheyHey is already selling fast in the Middle East and due to export into Australia this year, with fans including Richard Branson (who awarded the product Virgin Pioneer status) One Direction and many more. Damien will talk to Cork Chamber members about his incredible journey, the scaling up of his brand and the future for WheyHey in Europe and the US over the next few years.

The Single Digital Gateway aims to provide user-friendly access to information, e-procedures and advisory services. The Single Digital Gateway will make it easier to exploit the opportunities offered by the Single Market and is targeted, in particular at those who wish to do business in other EU countries or move to another Member State. The EEN would appreciate feedback from the business community on this consultation. You can complete the consultation online. On completion of the consultation please send your case ID confirmation number to Katherine by email so that we can track the feedback from our region. The consultation will remain open until 26/11/2016.
