Cork Chamber are delighted to invite members to an upcoming Energy Cork briefing that will focus on sustainable bus transport in Cork, and the opportunity for Cork to become a leader and hub for low emission public transport.


The briefing will hear from industry experts, regulators and practitioners about the growth in public bus usage and availability in Cork, a proposal to encourage the deployment of low emission bus technology in Cork, and how employers are taking the lead in planning smart and efficient ways for their employees to get to and from their workplace.


Speakers will include representatives of: Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS), NTA’s Smarter Travel Workplaces, Bus Éireann and Energy Cork. This event is being supported by Cork City Council, Cork County Council, Cork Chamber, UCC, Bus Éireann and Gas Networks Ireland.


A light breakfast will be provided from 0830, with speakers from 0900 and moderated Q&A to close by 1100.

Applications for the CorkBIC Global Investor Challenge Limited spaces available
 

The CorkBIC Global Investor Challenge, powered by Bank of Ireland is looking for the most investible Startups and Entrepreneurs to pitch in Cork on 18th-20th November 2016. Shortlisted Irish and international startups will battle it out as part of the CorkBIC Global Investor Challenge. Finalists will go head to head on Startup Island on Friday 18 November, with 3 finalists pitching at the Startup Nations Summit Gala Dinner on Saturday 19th November with an opportunity to win a €50,000 prize fund.

From the regional finals, startups will be selected to pitch at the Global Investor Challenge competition on 'Startup Island', Friday Nov 18th and 3 finalists will be chosen to go forward to the Grand Final, at the Startup Nations Summit Gala dinner in Cork on Saturday November 19th to be in with a chance of the €50k prizefund. 


Jazz weekend Late Night Buses
 

Late Night buses will be operating to Blarney, Ballincollig, Midleton and Carrigaline over the Bank Holiday weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Patrick St. at 0100, 0200 & 0300. More information available here.
