Cork Chamber’s Business Breakfast series in association with the Irish Examiner will kick off on Thursday 7th February 2013, with guest speaker Terry Clune, winner of the 2009 E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the 2010 HSBC European Entrepreneur Award. 

Take this opportunity to meet new business contacts, build relationships with existing contacts as well as your fellow Cork Chamber members, as well as hearing Terry’s story of entrepreneurship and enterprise.

Over the coming weeks a series of briefings are being organised for Small to Medium sized companies interested in learning more about CorkMEET 2013 and how the 3 day business forum will benefit business. The CorkMEET 2013 team will be on hand to outline details of the activities planned from 10th-12th April. They will advise on how to complete the registration process by filling out a detailed company profile and how to maximise the networking opportunities available to generate further business leads.

Ash Soan has enjoyed an illustrious career and is currently known for his extensive work with international superstar Adele. Prior to this Ash was part of Del Amitri and then went on to become part of dance legends Faithless. Ash has worked with artist such as Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams, Olly Murs, James Morrison and Ronan Keating to name a few. He also had the honour to play at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

A new charitable trust to offer free advice to charities and social enterprises is being launched by graduates of the UCC Executive MBA. The trust will be officially launched through a Blacktie Ball in the Radisson Blu Hotel on February 23 at 7pm, the proceeds of which will go to Good Shepherd Services and Cope Foundation. Two Cork based companies BAM Construction and Keanes Jewellers are also getting involved by sponsoring the Blacktie Ball. Tickets for the Ball are €75 and can be purchased at  www.mbatrust.org

Special Olympics will be hosting it’s very first Camino de Santiago Trek in June 2013 and it promises to be a great week with 60+ walkers going as part of our group.  Each group will complete just over 100km of the Camino Way of their choice.  Santiago de Compostela (also Saint James of Compostela) is the capital of the autonomous community of Galicia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On Saturday 16^th February, Michelin Star Chef & Owner of L’Ecrivain Restaurant in Dublin comes to the 5* Muckross Park Hotel for a very special valentine’s weekend event. Derry Clarke, together with Mike Hayes, Head Chef at Muckross Park Hotel, will create a 5-course Valentines Menu – “Food for Lovers”, with accompanying wines.
