A record number of buildings in Cork City will unlock their doors for the 10th anniversary of Cork Heritage Open Day on Saturday, 23rd August 2014. Launched by Cork-born poet and writer Theo Dorgan, at Cork Chamber, Cork Heritage Open Day celebrates the unique built heritage of Cork, and enables young and old to explore the history and heritage of the city free of charge. Members Feedback on their Economic Outlook for Q2 2014
|
Results of the second quarterly economic trends survey of 2014 shows confidence amongst members about the financial future of their business is high at a rate of 88%. On another positive note more than half of businesses (56%) reported an increase in net profits over the months of Q2 2014, while 52.52% anticipate a growth in net profit profits over Q3 2014.
Survey findings regarding reported and projected employment trends are reflective of the wider national trends regarding improved employment outlook over 2014 with 40% of businesses reporting an increase in employee numbers over Q2 and just 1.98% of businesses reported a decline.
The feedback from members also highlighted a number of areas of concern, particularly relating to working capital, political reform and taxation issues, where improved interventions and careful monitoring are required to ensure that business confidence and the positive reported financial activity of businesses are sustained and further expanded.
