Local Government Reform

The Chamber welcomes the recent Action Programme for Effective Local Government announced by Minister for the Environment and Local Government Phil Hogan, TD.  The proposals to reduce the number of local authorities will support greater cohesion, accountability and efficiencies. The Chamber supports a stronger role for local government in economic, social and community development. Further details can be found here.  

 

Board of Chambers Ireland AGM

Chamber’s Ireland recently held their AGM for the Board of Chambers Ireland.  Kevin Murray, Kevin J Murray & Co. was elected on behalf of Cork Chamber. The following people were also elected to the Board:

  • Mary-Rose Burke, Director of Pharmacy, Boots Ireland
  • John Carr, Managing Director, Irish Model Agency
  • Niall Feely, Managing Director, G4S Secure Solutions
  • Alan Price, Director, Peninsula Business Services (Ireland) Ltd.

 

While Dónall Curtin, Byrne Curtin Kelly, was elected as Chambers Ireland President and David Pierce of DPC Business Consultants Ltd was made an honorary member in recognition of his services to Chambers Ireland.
