Two UK Routes For Cork Airport

Cork Airport lands new routes to Southampton and Leeds Bradford

Aer Lingus Regional announces it is to have third aircraft based at Cork Airport


Cork Airport has warmly welcomed the news that Aer Lingus Regional operated by Stobart Air is set to launch two new routes to the UK next summer. The new routes are Cork – Southampton and Cork – Leeds Bradford. As well as the new routes, Stobart Air has announced it will be increasing capacity on three existing routes; Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle and will have a third aircraft based at the airport.

The Cork – Southampton route will operate five days a week every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be three weekly services on the new Cork – Leeds Bradford route operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

From Jobseeker to Digital Executive!
 

The Cork Chamber Business School is running a Jobseeker Support Programme starting on the 15th December next. The Programme will include 8 days training resulting in a QQI Level 5 Diploma in Digital Marketing. The Diploma will cover such topics as SEO, Google Analytics, Mobile Marketing, Facebook Marketing, E-Commerce & Developing a Digital Marketing Strategy.


Following the Programme, our graduates will be available for unpaid work placement (minimum of 5 days) with a view to full time employment. The graduates will finish the programme on the 28th January and will be available for placement after that date. This is a fantastic opportunity for any business to kickstart their 2016 digital strategy!

One of the staple events in the Chamber calendar, the Cork Chamber Christmas Lunch will this year take place in the Vienna Woods Hotel on Friday 11th December, featuring guest speaker Mr John Creedon.


There will be some fantastic prizes to be won on the day and we will donate all proceeds to some randomly selected Chamber member charities, so your participation in the charity draw will go a long way to help these worthy causes.


As always, this event will be held in partnership with the Marketing Institute in Cork and we hope to have a great mix of both organisations on the day.  So, make sure to come along to the Vienna Woods Hotel for some festive networking in December.  This is a fantastic opportunity to entertain clients and colleagues, so book a table and make a day of it!

Donal has over 25 years experience working in a number of large multi nationals including, Apple & Flextronics, beginning his career in Engineering.  Tyco is a company with over 65,000 employees operating in over 50 countries.

 


In January 2014, Tyco announced the expansion of its Cork operation with plans to expand workforce to between 500-700 over the coming years. Cork is the global headquarters for Tyco and is currently building a state of the art office block in One Albert Quay in the city centre.

Enterprise Europe Network’s Calendar of 2016 Brokerage Events

 

BIOFACH, 10th-13th February 2016, Nuremburg, Germany

Biofach is the world’s leading trade-fair for organic food. Attendees at this event can also benefit from an Enterprise Europe Network-led B2B matchmaking event which will comprise of prescheduled 30 minute face-to-face meetings. Hannover Messe, 25th-29th April 2016, Hannover, Germany

Hannover Messe is the world’s leading fair for industrial technology and will take place 25th-29th April 2016 in Hannover, Germany. The trade-fair will feature a host of product innovations and the latest technology, from individual components to the complete intelligent factory, as well as topical trends such as energy efficiency, lightweight construction and additive manufacturing. The Enterprise Europe Network is organising a B2B matchmaking event at this fair. Please note that registration for the B2B event is free-of-charge before 29th February 2016 but after that, it will cost €119 per organisation. See here for more information.

 

International Conference on Ocean Energy, 23-25 February 2016, Edinburgh, UK

The International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) is a biennial event that focuses on global marine energy and the industrial development of renewable marine energy. The purpose of the conference and exhibition is to share recent experiences from research and demonstration efforts. It aims to accelerate development by stimulating collaboration networks between companies and research and development centres. As an additional offering to participants at the 2016 edition of the event, Renewable UK and the EEN have teamed up to offer business partnering to all Edinburgh 2016 delegates, enabling companies to meet specific business contacts during the event. It is free to participate in the pre-scheduled 1:1 meetings.
