MS Word (Intermediate)

At the end of this one day course, participants will know how to perform the common everyday tasks in a quick and efficient manner using shortcuts etc. You will also learn a number of time-saving features such as using Quick Parts etc. Participants will be able to achieve far more professionally presented documents through the correct use of the document formatting / page layouts and tables.

Some of the topics covered on this course include basic headers & footers, setting up different sets of headers, footers & page numbering within the same document and how to overcome some problems that are encountered. You will learn how to layout your document in a more professional manner using tables and also look at performing calculations in tables among others.

MS Powerpoint ‘beyond the basics’

This course looks at the basics of slide content from text based slides through to inserting ClipArt, pictures, photos, movie clips etc. We will also look at formatting the slide show in a number of different ways including applying PowerPoint design templates.

A number of alternative slide layouts are available to the standard bulleted list layout – we will explore some of these options including the use of various different diagrams. Once the content is complete, we will then look at adding the finishing touches to your slide show by adding Custom Animation. Learn then how to run the slide show in the most professional way possible through the use of some simple keys. Most importantly, learn the Dos and Don’ts of PowerPoint.

MS Excel (Advanced)

This course is designed to follow-on from the MS Excel Intermediate course. Having already familiarised yourself with the most efficient way of performing everyday tasks, and having covered some intermediate tasks, it is now time to build on that knowledge.

A large proportion of the course is dedicated to using the Database Features in MS Excel - this is a very powerful side to Excel that not many people utilise to its fullest potential. Useful functions such as IF and Lookups are covered in addition to automating tasks using Macros etc.
