UK Government Postpones Introduction of Import Controls
 

The UK Government has announced the postponement of further import controls planned from July 2022. Specifically the following controls will not now be introduced in 2022 and the new target date for introduction is the end of 2023:

  • A requirement for further Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) checks on EU imports currently at destination to be moved to Border Control Post (BCP)
  • A requirement for safety and security declarations on EU imports
  • A requirement for further health certification and SPS checks for EU imports
  • Prohibitions and restrictions on the import of chilled meats from the EU

It is important to note that all existing controls, including those introduced on 1 January 2022, will remain in place. Please continue to check this page for further updates.

City Centre Placemaking Fund 2022
Applications now open until 30th May
 

Cork City Council is now accepting applications from business and community groups for placemaking projects in the city centre. With up €10,000 available to groups, projects that contribute to urban greening and biodiversity are of particular interest. The closing date for applications is 30th May 2022

Mahon Cycle Scheme
Consultation period now open
 

Cork Chamber are making a submission, on behalf of our members, on the proposed Mahon Cycle Scheme. The consultation period will run until the 14th of June 2022. These consultations are an important part of shaping the future of our city and we encourage our members to engage in the process.
