Submission on Long-Term Strategy on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction
 

Cork Chamber made a submission to the public consultation on the Long-Term Strategy on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction urging a focus on implementation, monitoring and evaluation as an essential and needing to reflect the urgency and responsiveness required in the future pathway to meaningfully reduce GHG emissions now. 


Submission to Review of the Environment Fund
 

Cork Chamber recently made a submission to the public consultation on the Review of the Environment Fund. Within this, we urge that all levy funds raised be strictly invested in infrastructure for recycling, waste recovery, composting, waste to energy district schemes, education and awareness raising across all of society e.g. in classrooms, in businesses and for consumers, to support circular economy models/ social enterprises and projects to inform and educate business to design out waste. We urge that business be supported to adapt practices, and adopt new practices.

Cork Chamber will make a submission to the Public Consultation on a Review of Sustainable Mobility Policy. We encourage members to review the relevant themes within the consultation and to make submissions, we also invite your comments in advance of the Cork Chamber submission.

Cork Chamber also invites you to attend a meeting organised by Cork transport stakeholders (Transport and Mobility Forum (of which Cork Chamber are members), Pedestrian Cork, Cork Cycling Campaign, Cork City PPN) to review Ireland’s sustainable mobility policy….. etc. as you have it.

DBEI SME Management Skills project
 

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation (DBEI) are looking for expressions of interest for participation in a national survey of managers and owners of SMEs.

 

The survey is part of a project which will help the DBEI to create supports and solutions to assist the SME sector in Ireland. Expressions of interest no later than January 15th please.


 
How good are your management skills?
 
We want to survey 500 SME managers and owners to understand their skills and management practices within their firms between 20th January and 7th February 2020.
 
If your company employs between 10 and 250 people and if you would like to participate please email SMESurvey2020.research@tudublin.ie with your name, the name and address of your company, your contact telephone number, and the number of people employed in your firm. Expressions of interest for participation in the survey are requested by email no later than Wednesday 15th January 2020.
 
Your participation in this process will enable you to stay on a distribution list for future communications about this work. You can also receive some customised feedback relative to your firm or sector once the project completes in late Spring 2020.
This survey is part of an important project of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation to help them create supports and solutions to assist the SME sector in Ireland. The telephone survey will take between 20-25 minutes.
 
*Chambers Ireland is a member of The Steering Committee of an important project being carried out by DBEI and Technological University (TU) Dublin to get a better understanding of SME management skills in Ireland. Project managed by TU Dublin and funded by the European Union via the Structural Reform Support Service of the Commission.
