Cork Chamber members can now access the SME WellBusiness Charter, a free initiative from Chambers Ireland developed in partnership with Healthy Ireland. This self-guided programme provides practical tools and resources to help businesses build healthier, more productive workplaces. By embedding health and wellbeing into everyday business practices, organisations can support employee engagement, improve retention and strengthen resilience. As a Cork Chamber member, this is a free benefit designed specifically to support SMEs in taking simple, meaningful steps to enhance workplace wellbeing.

Hear from David as he shares insights on how he is leading Gas Networks Ireland through a pivotal period as they work to deliver a net-zero carbon gas network while maintaining a safe and secure energy supply.

 

Prior to becoming CEO, David served as Director of Customer and Business Development at Gas Networks Ireland, where he played a key role in advancing the organisation’s strategy to transition from natural gas to renewable gases such as biomethane and green hydrogen.

Cork City Climate Change Risk Assessment
Help Cork City Council better prepare for long-term impacts of climate change
 

The Climate Action Unit is seeking input from organisations and stakeholders across Cork city to help them understand how climate change and weather-related events are already affecting services, operations, and day to day activities. Completing this short survey, which should take approximately 10-15 minutes, will provide valuable, local, “on the ground” experience to inform the Climate Risk Assessment.

Joe Gantly Prize in Engineering
 

Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the Joe Gantly Prize in Engineering, awarded annually to the top performers in the Work Placement module across the ME (Hons) programmes at University College Cork.

 

The prize commemorates the late Joe Gantly, Past President of Cork Chamber, Governor of UCC, a Civil Engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin and an influential figure in Cork’s industry and education landscape. To honour his legacy and support future talent, Cork Chamber proudly fund the Joe Gantly Prize in Engineering recognising outstanding students and strengthening the link between education and industry in the region. Positive Momentum for EU Trade Agreements
 

Two significant EU trade developments this week highlight growing momentum in diversifying global market access for European and Irish businesses.

 

The EU–Mercosur agreement entering provisional application, alongside the conclusion of the EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement, signals a clear commitment to open, rules-based trade and stronger partnerships with key global markets.
