Work Matters 2 - Workplace for All - Breakfast Seminar
Diversity in the workplace refers to the variety of differences between people in an organisation. The inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce remains a constant challenge. Intreo, the employment and income supports service from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, is hosting a breakfast seminar on Wednesday 16th October 2019 at the Kingsley Hotel, Cork, to discuss how employers can address this matter. You will find information on the wide range of financial and other supports available and how to access a labour force of untapped potential.
The keynote speaker will be Cork-born disability rights activist, Advocacy Project Worker with Inclusion Ireland and journalist, Julie Helen. She will share her insights into living with Cerebral Palsy, how employment, relationships and choice are basic human rights, and will outline some of the changes needed to ensure that people with disabilities enjoy them equally to everyone else.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with contributions from local employers who will give practical examples of the benefits of an inclusive workplace culture. There will also be information on the range of financial supports available from the Department to facilitate greater diversity in the workplace. Registration for this seminar will commence at 7:15am. Refreshments will be served on arrival giving you an opportunity to network with fellow attendees. Official proceedings will commence at 8:00am and finish at 9:45am. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
