Chamber President Says It Is People Who Define This Region
Cork Chamber President, Gillian Keating, speaking at the Cork Chamber Annual Dinner celebrated excellence from across the region focusing not on advances in technology or economic development but on the people who are driving the region and placing Cork on the world map. She exemplified this by focusing on the stories of mathematician, George Boole, world renowned furniture designer, Joseph Walsh, Radisens Diagnostics CEO, Jerry O’Brien and winners of the global science research competition at the 2014 Google Science Fair Ciara Judge, Emer Hickey and Sophie Healy-Thow. The key message of the evening was that Cork is successfully competing and exerting influence on a global scale and we require continued investment in productivity, innovation, education, skills, research and new technologies to facilitate and enable the vision and ambition that is driving the people of Cork.
