Influencing & Negotiating Skills

This programme is designed to help participants enhance their ability to communicate in a confident and professional manner. It will enable participants to acquire the skills to prepare and plan effectively for negotiations, to understand the roles and functions people play within the customer’s organisation with whom they are negotiating, to develop an awareness of strategies to deal with people in the customer organisation, to cultivate the persuasive style of conducting a professional sales negotiation, to understand how customer behaviour can influence the negotiation strategy, to explore ways to identify and deal with common barriers to achieving goals.

 

This course is ideal for anyone who wishes to improve their persuading, influencing and negotiating skills, especially people working in the areas of marketing, sales, advertising and buying.

The course will include:

            1.         Introduction to Effective Communication Skills

            2.         What is Persuading?

            3.         What is Influencing?

            4.         An Introduction to Negotiation

            5.         How to best use and counteract a range of commonly seen negotiation  tactics, ploys, and techniques

            6.         Developing your own “principled” negotiation style, adaptable to changing  circumstances

Present & Express with Confidence

This one day programme takes the fear out of presentations, public speaking, meetings and one to one conversations by furnishing participants with a toolset guaranteed to improve their approach. This programme focuses on structure, content, audience, presenter competency, visual aids and practical demonstration. (Please note that this is not a PowerPoint presentation program).

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to improve competency in presenting and expressing thoughts and ideas with confidence.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explore presenter perception
  • Structure presentations in a logical order
  • Perform audience stakeholder analysis
  • Develop strategies for dealing with the audience & questions

The fourth and final part of the Enterprise Europe Network’s ‘Access to Finance for SMEs’ series will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island on Wednesday, December 4th at 8am.  State Agency Funding and Revenue Incentives to support business startups and business growth will be identified by a broad cross section of agencies including Cork Enterprise Boards, LEADER Development Companies, Enterprise Ireland, IntertTradeIreland, MicroFinance Ireland, and the Revenue Commissioners.

Business supports from these agencies range from training and mentoring programmes, feasibility grants, microfinance loans, advice, support and finance to develop export markets, job expansion funds, etc.

ICS is now offering a new HETAC Level 8 course in Business Analysis. The course was developed by the Business Analysts Association of Ireland and is delivered by the National College of Ireland. The programme is delivered two days per month across six months and leads to the Certificate in Business Analysis .

Previous courses have been fully booked out and have been excellently received by course participants.


The next course begins the 16th of January, taking place at the Clarion Hotel in Cork.
