Central Bank Review of Mortgage Rules Open for Submissions

The Central Bank of Ireland has today opened a consultation into the loan-to-value and loan-to-income mortgage regulations introduced in February 2015.

As part of the Central Bank’s forthcoming review of the regulations, it is now welcoming evidence-based submissions on the effectiveness of the mortgage rules and information on any side-effects that these may have had on the property market.

The consultation is open until 10 August 2016. For further information and to make a submission, click here.

Interreg RATIO Project

In February of 2016, Cork Chamber was approved as a partner on the Interreg RATIO project, which sees 9 partner organisations from 8 countries coming together as project partners to address the Europe 2020 objectives, specifically focusing on the enabling and promotion of research development and innovation in rural areas. The RATIO acronym which stands for Regional Actions To Innovate Operational Programmes will aim to strengthen innovation systems, reinforce networks and increase SME participation in RDI. The kick off meeting which involved all project partners took place on May 31st in Zaragoza, Spain, where two representatives from Cork Chamber, a representative from Cork Innovates and a representative from South Cork Local Enterprise Office attended presenting on the Cork region. This is a four year project and there will be updates on the project status and outputs throughout.

Romania is located at the crossroads of south-eastern and central Europe and offers a gateway for business from West to East. The Embassy of Romania to Ireland and the Enterprise Europe Network partners in Romania are readily at hand to assist Irish businesses interested in trading with Romania to promote bilateral trade.
