To mark the launch of 2013 as the European Year of Citizens, the Department of the Taoiseach and the European Commission are organising a Citizens’ Dialogue event, taking place during the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU. This event will provide interested citizens with a unique opportunity to attend the launch of the European Year of Citizens with Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD; Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore TD and the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso.

‘Women’s Little Christmas’ Afternoon Tea event in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research, takes place at The River Lee Hotel on the Western Road Cork on January 6^th from  2-6pm. The next event in the CIPD Southern Region calendar is a breakfast meeting at The Clarion Hotel at 7.30am on Wednesday January 16th, 2013. The guest speaker will be Gerry Walsh and a full Irish breakfast will be served. The topic of Gerry’s presentation will be: performance managment for strategic advantage.   

Business Network International’s (BNI) Cork City Chapter will hold a mentoring and networking evening at Nemo Rangers GAA Club, off South Douglas Road, Douglas at 6.15pm to 9pm on Tuesday 15^th January 2013. The entrance fee is €15 with all proceeds going to Cork Rebel Wheelers. Attendees will have access to expert advice and tips and have a chance to connect with other professionals through a fun speed network half hour. There will also be an extensive choice of mentoring sessions available on the evening.
