Cost of Doing Business in Ireland 2016
The 2016 Cost of Doing Business report published last week by the National Competitiveness Council flags a number of trends undermining the competitiveness of Irish businesses. Internationally, the report raises concern about adverse exchange rate movements while emphasising the need for prudent fiscal policies to minimise the exposure to the economy as a result hereof.
Meanwhile, at home, rising enterprise costs including residential and commercial property costs, the cost of business services, credit and insurance, as well as infrastructure bottlenecks and skills shortages, are identified as risks with potential to undermine the recovery.
