Uisce Éireann has launched a public consultation on the draft Cork Wastewater Strategy, a long‑term plan for wastewater services for the Cork Metropolitan Area through to 2080. More details available online <HERE>.. As part of the consultation, Uisce Éireann is holding a briefing on Friday, 20th February, followed by a Q&A.
Cork's population is expected to grow by up to 60% by 2040, requiring significant expansion of existing drainage and wastewater infrastructure to meet increased demand for serviced land for housing, commercial activity and industry. Submissions to the public consultation can be made until 19th March.
Cork County Council has launched its Circular Economy Fund for 2026, with funding available for community groups, sports clubs, and festival and event organisers to implement circular practices. The theme of the fund for 2026 is the reduction of single use plastics in communities.
The deadline for applications is Friday, 20th February 2026.
