Significant Investments announced for the Cork Region

This week heralded significant investment announcements for Cork. On Friday, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, laid the foundation stone on Dairygold’s €83.5m ‘regeneration’ of its milk plant at Mallow. He also performed the official opening of Dairygold’s upgrade of its Castlefarm dairy plant in Mitchelstown. The €117 million euro investment in the plant is expected to create 115 new full-time jobs as well as 400 temporary construction jobs.

In addition to this, the Instruments Division of Stryker Corporation announced plans to construct a new 44,000 square foot surgical Innovation Centre in Cork. The Centre will focus on the research and development of products, technologies and solutions to reduce surgical procedure time and healthcare costs while improving surgical precision and clinical outcomes. The construction of the facility will commence in Q4 2014 and is due for completion in Q4 2015.
