The Minister will outline the Government’s approach to the creation of employment and hear the views and ideas of business people on what other supports they need, to protect existing jobs and create new ones. The discussion and the ideas generated will feed into the Action Plan for Jobs 2014.

Bike Week 2013 runs from 15th to 23rd June and this year the National Opening Event will be held in Cork on Sunday 16th June, with lots of cycling activities for all ages throughout the week.Sponsored by the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport, the aim of Bike Week is to celebrate cycling and get more people cycling so events for the week are geared to families, amateur cyclists, commuter cyclists and particularly the lapsed cyclist.

Organised by the Munster Agriculture Society, the 172nd Cork Summer Show will take place Saturday June 15th and Sunday June 16th in Curraheen in Bishopstown.   There will be showing classes for cattle, horses, sheep, goats and poultry. Visitors can also enjoy the Festival4 Kidz, Pet Dog Show, Pedigree Dog Show, Crafts Exhibitions, Cookery Demonstrations, Best Dressed Ladies Competition and live music.

Over 6,000 children from Cork attend Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital every year.
Cork Friends of Crumlin are asking for your support in this years’ fundraising event to be held in Cork Golf club on Monday June 17th.

As we await the new national Children’s Hospital, there are two very important projects underway to totally redevelop the Cardiac and Cancer wards. With your help, we can complete both projects on time, which will have a major impact on the hospital conditions for the children and their families.

Chernobyl Cycle Challenge- in aid of Adi Roche’s Chernobyl Children International
