Microsoft Visio

Course Date: 12th March

This is an Introduction to Microsoft Visio course, a course with a high level of practical content, aimed at those who have not used Microsoft Visio before. It is designed for candidates with widely differing experience and skill levels.

A large part of the course is spent with a set of specially prepared exercises and projects so that those attending gain firm foundations through their own practical experience.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

- Use a Template to create a document

- Insert shapes to create a diagram

- Manipulate shape properties

- Set a background page to a diagram

- Find shapes

- Manage a custom stencil

- Set available formatting features to objects

- Position and align shapes on a page

- Use connections to connect shapes

- Control snap and glue options

- Add a layer to a drawing

- Set up the document for printing

Microsoft Project

Course Date: 13th March

This course provides practical guidance on how to plan and schedule projects using Microsoft Project. On completion of the course, delegates will have acquired the skills needed to create a new project, enter task, resource and cost information; analyse and adjust schedules with date, dependency and resource constraints; and customise and print Gantt Chart views and reports.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

* Insert tasks and subtasks to a project

* Link tasks to create dependencies

* Create and use project calendars

* Create and assign resources to tasks

* Apply basic costs to tasks

* Use appropriate views to identify project information

* Apply filtering and sorting

* Finalise a project

This Introduction to Microsoft Project course is aimed at new, recent or intending users of Microsoft Project wishing to develop their project understanding and capabilities with this package. This course is ideal for anyone who wishes to learn the basics of using Microsoft Project. No previous usage of Microsoft Project is required, however basic Microsoft Window skills are needed. Trade Mission to La Rioja (Spain) for Wine and Specialty Food Importers, 7th-8th May 2014

La Rioja's Employers' Federation / Federacion de Empresario de la Rioja (FER), in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network, has organised a reverse trade mission to Logroño in the La Rioja area of Spain, one of Spain’s principal agro food regions. The event, which takes place 7th-8th May, will target wine and specialty food importers and distributors for foodservice and retail. Travel and lodging costs to Logroño will be 100% covered by FER*. The deadline for receipt of applications is 15th March.

Trade Mission to La Rioja (Spain) for Wine and Specialty Food Importers, 7th-8th May 2014

La Rioja's Employers' Federation / Federacion de Empresario de la Rioja (FER), in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network, has organised a reverse trade mission to Logroño in the La Rioja area of Spain, one of Spain’s principal agro food regions. The event, which takes place 7th-8th May, will target wine and specialty food importers and distributors for foodservice and retail. The working language of this mission will be English.

La Rioja is home to a number of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products such as Rioja Wine, Serrano Ham, and ChorizoRiojano. A total of 37 vineyards and 25 food producers from the Rioja region have confirmed their participation in the event. Bilateral meetings will take place in Logroño on 7th May and corresponding buyer visits will take place on 8 May.

Distributors and importers of wine, central purchasing bodies, food chains, hypermarkets, supermarkets, foodservice buyers and Spanish food importers are invited to attend this trade mission.

Travel and lodging costs to Logroño will be 100% covered by FER. *However importers who previously attended the 2013 edition of the event will incur a cost of €350 per delegate. If an importer cancels his or her place on this trade mission after 8th April then the cancellation cost of €350 will be borne by the importer.

Enterprise Europe Network Events Calendar

The aim of this event is to promote business partnerships between Spanish and European companies across a broad array of sectors.

This conference integrates nanotechnology, biotechnology, advanced materials and new production technologies. The event offers opportunities for developing valuable research and industry collaborations, and showcases cutting-edge research, latest innovations and rising companies from all around Europe.

The event is aimed at stakeholders who are interested in current and new Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and related technologies.

Nominations for the 2014 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards are  now open.

The awards are run in association with the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, partnered by Business in the Community Ireland and kindly sponsored by BAM.


The deadline for submitting applications is 12pm Tuesday 15th April.
