Introduction to Certification of Green Buildings

Background to this training:

The European Commission is placing increased importance on the environmental performance of buildings, with the scope of improving building sustainability and enhancing business opportunities within the sustainable buildings industry. A resource-efficient Europe is one of the EU’s key priorities under Europe 2020. For this reason, the EEN has partnered with the IGBC and Energy Cork to deliver this training programme.

Course aim:
The course aims to give attendees information on Certification Tools for Green Buildings and understand what it involves.

Following this course, participants will:

  • Know what certification involves
  • Be able to choose the appropriate certification for their project
  • Know how building certification can impact your business, and the use of certifications in maintaining a competitive property portfolio
  • Know where to find the information to ensure that systems and services comply with certification requirements

Further information can be found on the World Green Building Council’s recent report, the Business Case for Green Buildings. For further information contact Eimear.
