Cork County Council's Circular Economy Fund is open for applications from community groups, festivals and events. The fund aims to support groups in moving towards more sustainable practices and the 2025 grant has a specific focus on reducing single-use plastics in communities. The deadline for applications is 21st February. 

Applications are open for Cork City Council's 2025 Twinning Grant Scheme. Organisations who wish to undertake a project with one of Cork's twinned cities to develop international ties can apply for funding before 7th February. 

Eurochambres, the European association of chambers of commerce, is carrying out a survey of women in business across Europe in association with the EU and UN. The survey aims to better understand the experiences of women in business and to gain an insight into the unique challenges and opportunities for women in business.

The Irish government has announced a postponement in the planned increase of statutory paid sick leave days for 2025. Initially, the Sick Leave Act 2022 outlined a phased approach to enhance workers' entitlements, starting with three days in 2023, increasing to five days in 2024, seven days in 2025, and reaching ten days by 2026. However, the scheduled extension to seven days in 2025 has been deferred due to an ongoing review.
