Norwegian Permit Approval a Major Turning Point

Cork Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomes the announcement that the US Department of Transportation has granted a licence to Norwegian Air International to operate the first transatlantic flights between Cork and the United States.
Commenting on the positive development Cork Chamber CEO Conor Healy stated “this most welcome news is a game changer in terms of tourism and economic development in the wider Cork region. Getting to this point has required considerable collaborative efforts by Cork Airport, elected representatives, the business and tourism communities and local authorities and we look forward to seeing the benefits in the time ahead. In addition to local focus on this issue getting to a resolution has also required major support from Government and the EU."
