Dear Member,

I hope that you, your families, friends and teams are well.

The initial shock of COVID-19 is now felt by all. Emergency legislation has been finalised and broadly speaking the extent of Government intent and intervention is understood but needs to be enhanced. We want to continue receiving feedback from you and to amplify your concerns. We hear your challenges and we know that cashflow is an immense and growing hurdle, and alleviation measures need to be facilitated by government.

So far this week we have engaged with senior officials in the Department of Finance, Department of Business Enterprise and Innovation, Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Revenue, the Central Bank and our senior political leaders. Put simply, we are working hard and tactically to represent you.

We are actively planning for the medium and long term recovery and the steps required to ensure that this recovery is sustainable and resilient.

To varying degrees, we will all have to recalibrate our operational plans, our priorities, our expectations and our forecasts, but we will be here together throughout this. Our events and training continue apace albeit online. Our full service offer is here for you to avail of as members. Your platform for support, promotion and continuity.

We must adhere to our public health guidelines and find new ways to enjoy the long weekend, close to home, in our beautiful Cork.

Please feel free to contact me directly at any time on 087 9471858 or conor@corkchamber.ie.

Stay safe and Happy Easter.

Conor
