This 3 day course, one of our more popular, is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, deliver, assess and evaluate training programmes. It is suitable for people who are working in the area of training and development or who will soon be assuming a training position within their organisation. Participants on this course will gain practical experience and recognised certification (FETAC Level 6) as trainers.

Personal Productivity using MS Outlook

This one day course will provide you with an effective means to reduce mind clutter and an easy to apply method of managing and prioritising workload and overcoming e-mail deluge. This course, based on the 2007/2010 version of Outlook, will enable you to have an EMPTY INBOX at the end of each working day!

The focus of this, the 3rd seminar in our “Access to Finance for SMEs” series, will be on identifying what makes a business ‘investor ready’, what business sectors are favoured by private investment and venture capital companies and what are the new private funding innovations.

Speakers will include Michael O’Connor, CorkBIC who will speak about the Halo Business Angel Network and Denise O’Callaghan from the Cork Gluten Free Bakery, Delicious, will outline her funding journey.    Marc Rafferty from Linked Finance will introduce the concept of’ crowd funding’ and Cork entrepreneur Ernest Cantillon will share his experience of crowd funding a business in Cork.

The leading showcase for entrepreneurs, innovators, startups and small business, INBusiness INCork will take place on 14 November 2013 at City Hall, Cork.  Hosted by Cork innovates, this all-day event promises to be a ‘must-attend’ for anyone interested in business and entrepreneurship. 


This year, Cork innovates wants to help you and your business take a step in the right direction, and with this in mind, this year’s showcase is jam-packed with business value for your company, from a showcase of business support organisations and services, to a stellar line up of motivational and entrepreneurial speakers along with the Vodafone’s Smart Startup Network.

“The journey of a business begins with a number of critical steps,” explains Siobhan Finn, Cork innovates Co-ordinator.  “The INBusiness INCork showcase event will enable attendees to take those steps, meeting with potential partners, funding organisations and support agencies as well as hearing from case studies and successful entrepreneurs across every sector including technology, services, food and the craft industry,” explains Siobhán Finn.

African Ambassadors to come to Cork Chamber on November 1

Companies who are currently doing business on the African Continent, or who are interested in doing so, are invited to meet with African ambassadors from the African Diplomatic Corps in Ireland at Cork Chamber on November 1.  Enterprise Europe Network ‘Building a Business on Your Ideas’ Seminar, November 21, Waterford Institute of Technology

The Enterprise Europe Network Ireland, in cooperation with the Irish Patents Office and the Enterprise Boards, will host a seminar on ‘Building a Business on Your Ideas’ in the Auditorium, Waterford Institute of Technology, Main Campus, Cork Road, Waterford on Thursday, 21 November. Speakers will include representatives from the Patents Office, Enterprise Ireland, Waterford City Enterprise Board, The Enterprise Europe Network, Waterford Institute of Technology and a Patent Attorney. EU-China Exhibition on Urban Development, November 20-23, Beijing, China

The EU-China Exhibition on Urban Development will be held on November 20-23 in Beijing. The emphasis is on solutions to increased urbanisation in both China and Europe. The event will be attended by Chinese city governments, provinces and companies. It is being heavily promoted by the EU. All of Cork’s existing and potential partner cities and provinces in China will be present at the Exhibition. Cork City Council has reserved exhibition space for the event. It will be an opportunity to promote Cork as an investment location to Chinese interests and an opportunity for Cork companies to promote themselves to Chinese customers and Chinese partners. The wider Southwest region can also be promoted at the event. Free Parking Initiative 15th October 2013 to 23rd November 2013

Cork Chamber welcome the announcement by Cork City Council on its free parking initiative in the city’s two publicly owned car parks and confirmed that parking will be free on Saturdays at the Black Ash ‘park and ride’ facility.  

The parking initiative will run at the council’s two public multi-storey car parks in Paul Street (735 spaces) and North Main Street (410 spaces), where there will be free parking from 10am to noon, Monday to Thursday, in both Paul St and North Main St car parks. From Oct 17 in Paul St only, there will be free parking on Thursday and Friday nights, from 6.30pm to midnight.

Menno van Doorn, Director of the Sogeti Research Institute for the Analysis of New Technology (VINT) and author of the recently published "The App Effect" will talk about"The Top 10 app effects that he has found that impact businesses" and pose the question: "Is your organisation ready for these App Effects?"
