Dear Chamber Member,

I hope you, your families and colleagues are keeping safe and well and that you were not impacted by Storm Barra over the last few days.

As we are once again weathering a reintroduction of restrictions, it is clear that the anticipated scenario that underpinned Government recovery planning and Budget 2022 has not materialised, and many businesses are still experiencing high levels of disruption, reduced revenue and continued uncertainty.

Government must afford a level of certainty, and together with our national network of Chambers in Ireland, we have continued to call on Government to introduce multiple scenario contingency planning. This would give businesses the foresight of what the Government responses will be should Covid-19 levels not improve.

In the meantime we press ahead helping to keep our members connected, upskilled and growing, representing your interests and working to enhance our city region.

Many of you attended this morning’s insightful Business Breakfast Live with Cork Airport MD Niall MacCarthy, which served to highlight the importance of Cork airport to business, tourism and the wider economy of the region, and while the airport strives to move beyond Covid and enhance services the importance also of business in Cork utilising the airport where possible. We have two events next week, Maximise Your Membership which is designed to help you and your team make the most of the systems we have in place to share your news and updates with our network. Secondly, we would be delighted if you would join us for our Christmas Cracker, which is free to members, and promises to be a fun, lively festive event. I hope to see you there.

And a reminder, as we are in what is a defining trading period for many businesses, your support of our local economy is more important than ever, in both our business and personal purchase decisions. Shop locally where you can, and help to keep our city region thriving.

I welcome you to contact me directly on 087-9471858 or by e-mail HERE to discuss any issues affecting your business. We are here to represent you

Warm regards,

Conor Healy
