Cork Chamber raises concerns on LPT reductions

Cork Chamber is concerned that any decision to reduce the LPT may have an adverse effect on the region’s economic growth and potential to grow jobs.  While Cork Chamber respects the autonomy of the elected members of the local authority to change the LPT, we have expressed our concerns by way of submission that a reduction cannot be made without identifying alternate sources of funding beforehand to ensure no reduction in the levels of service provisions by the local authority, no increase to commercial rates and no dilution of the Economic Development Fund occur as a result.

It is important that the Council apply astute budgetary strategies over coming budgets to ensure the regions potential for job growth is realised through a economic environment conducive to growth and expansion.
