Take the Train to The 2014 Irish Open

How to Get To The Fairway at the 2014 Irish Open @ Fota Island Resort, Fota, Co. Cork ……..…..…. Without Having to Drive!

The location of the 2014 Irish Open at Fota Island Resort, Fota, Co, Cork - is ideal for travelling by Train.

 

Fota Island, which is beautifully situated in the middle of Cork Harbour, has its own Railway Station - just thirteen minutes by train from Kent Station, Cork – or ten minutes by train from Cobh.

 

A special entrance to the golf course, has been built by the European Tour – just 400 meters walk from Fota Station – so that travelling by train to Fota for the 2014 Irish Open at Fota Island Resort has never been easier.

 

Fota Station, on the busy Cork to Cobh Commuter Rail Line, already has twenty three trains a day from Cork or Cobh every weekday. Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is increasing its frequency of trains and adding additional capacity in order to cater for the expected demand wishing to attend this year’s 2014 Irish Open at Fota Island Resort over the four days of golf from the 19th to 22nd June next.

 

Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is offering Free Car Parking at its East Cork Commuter Stations – i.e. Midleton, Carrigtwohill, Glounthaune and Little Island Stations – so that parking at any of these stations and travelling by commuter train to Fota is convenient.

 

Midleton Station is twelve minutes and Carrigtwohill Station is only five minutes - by train to Glounthaune - where passengers can change trains and hop on another train to Fota Station, which is only three minutes away.
