Fota Island, which is beautifully situated in the middle of Cork Harbour, has its own Railway Station - just thirteen minutes by train from Kent Station, Cork – or ten minutes by train from Cobh.
A special entrance to the golf course, has been built by the European Tour – just 400 meters walk from Fota Station – so that travelling by train to Fota for the 2014 Irish Open at Fota Island Resort has never been easier.
Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail is offering Free Car Parking at its East Cork Commuter Stations – i.e. Midleton, Carrigtwohill, Glounthaune and Little Island Stations – so that parking at any of these stations and travelling by commuter train to Fota is convenient.

- Thursday 19th & Friday 20th June - 8 daily additional commuter services will operate on top of regular services.
- Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd June - every half hour from 07:00 until 20:00 with normal services outside of these hours.
