Bonus Payments During Maternity Leave – Key Considerations for Organisations

As Organisations prepare to consider annual bonus payments throughout Q3 and Q4, Employers should carefully consider their obligations where an Employee is absent on maternity leave. Entitlement to a bonus will depend on a number of factors, including the terms of the employment contract, the nature of the bonus scheme, established custom and practice, and the purpose of the payment.

Organisations should also be mindful of the potential contractual and discrimination risks associated with withholding or reducing a bonus.

For advice, support, or guidance about employment law compliance, Employee relations or any HR issues, contact Adare Trusted People Partners by calling (01) 561 3594 or emailing info@adarehrm.ie.

Two-Factor Authentication: Troubleshooting Tips

As you may know, we recently activated two-factor authentication (2FA) on Member Information Centre logins. This adds a second layer of security by sending a one-time verification code to the email address registered to your account, so that a password alone isn't enough to access your membership record. It protects your company's details.

Since activating it, we've seen a rise in members being locked out. Most cases come down to the same few things — login details being shared between colleagues, or verification codes landing in spam.
