Visa, Skills and Anti Racism
 

Earlier this year we published views on the values of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and their role in skills and talent attraction and retention. We have shared our view that a pro-diversity society must also be strongly anti-racist.

 

We continue to lobby at national level to address these issues and in particular for the need to strengthen legislation to address systemic issues of racism, sexism, ableism and segregation that exist in our society.  Read our letter to senior Government Ministers.

Born through a public consultation event in City Hall in 2013, the Cork Age Friendly City Alliance works towards ensuring society meets the interests and needs of all ages and enhancing the quality of life of our older population. Cork Chamber sits on the alliance forum advocating for our older population and increasing the accessibility and inclusivity of our city region.

MTU Traveller Education Work Experience
 

Many work experience opportunities and placements are put in place by having connections within private industry. The Traveller Education Coordinator in MTU is compiling a list of organisations with work experience and internships for 2nd level and 3rd level Traveller students. With 84% unemployment amongst the Travelling community, Travellers simply do not have the connections within companies to secure work placement opportunities on their own. Cork Chamber has committed to this programme.
