The Cork Chamber October Business After Hours Networking Event will take place on Thursday 25th October from 6pm – 8pm in the VHI SwiftCare Clinic in City Gate, Mahon and is a networking opportunity for Cork Chamber members.
The Vhi SwiftCare Clinic is Cork's first walk-in urgent care clinic and provides medical care for minor injuries and illness. The clinic aims to treat patients within an hour. Open to all members of the public, not just patients with private health insurance, the clinics are open 365 days a year.

Cork Chamber are delighted to welcome Paula Fitzsimons as keynote speaker for our Female Entrepreneurs Mentoring Clinic. Paula will be addressing the issues around whether Irish women have untapped entrepreneurial potential. The seminar and panel discussion will take place from 10.30 - 12.30 and will be followed by a complimentary light lunch. The event will also offer early-stage female entrepreneurs the opportunity to arrange a short one-to-one meeting with a mentor, in order to ask advice on a specific aspect of their business. These meetings will take place between 13.30-15.00. Cork Chamber’s 2012 Dublin Dinner will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 20th November in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin with special guest speaker Mr Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine. This event will promote the strong connections that exist between Cork and Dublin Businesses and enhance existing business relations between the two regions.
In addition at the event, Cork Chamber will honour the outstanding contribution to business by a Cork person and this year’s recipient of the award will be Mr Brian McCarthy, Founder & Executive Chairman of Fexco.
Cork Chamber’s Dublin Dinner 2012 will hold unique potential for Dublin-based companies to meet with their Cork peers as well as Cork companies doing business in Dublin. It also affords the opportunity for networking amongst Cork business people who are Dublin based. Cork Chamber is delighted to welcome Ernst & Young as the event sponsor this year. The overall winner will be selected from one of the three award categories above.

Cork Chamber Pre-Budget Submission The Chamber recently published its Pre-Budget Submission which sets out to Government the priorities of Cork’s business community in advance of Budget 2013. The submission sets out proposals which will not increase the cost of doing business in Ireland but will instead stimulate key sectors of the economy, secure employment and reinvigorate the regional economy as a driver of national growth. The River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork Acclaimed antiques expert, George Stacpoole (as seen on RTÉ The Dealers) and President of The Irish Antique Dealers Association leads a group of experts coming to Cork on Sunday 21stOctober as part of St Fin Barre’s Cathedral Conservation Project Fundraising Drive.
The Antiques Roadshow will run from 12.15pm to 4.30pm in the River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork with Mr Stacpoole and other experts shedding some light on people’s most treasured and unusual possessions. Experts, including Dublin based James Weldon (silver and jewellery), Chris Southgate (collectables), Professor Alan Fletcher (oriental objects) and Michael Sheppard of Sheppard’s Irish Art Auction House will be available to value items of all types and sizes.
The fee is €10.00 for a valuation up to a maximum of 5 items. All proceeds go to the St Fin Barre’s Cathedral Conservation Fund which is currently focussed on rebuilding the organ.

We are delighted to announce that our next Wine Society evening will take place on Thursday, 15th November. Our host on the evening will be Pascal Playton of Tindal Wines who has arranged a programme of exceptional wines from South Africa especially for the evening.
