Cork Chamber hosted a very successful meeting with new Minister with responsibility for the OPW Simon Harris TD on Friday October 31^st.  At the meeting the Chamber discussed issues of concern around the Lower Lee Flood Relief Scheme. The Minister has re-affirmed the government’s commitment to fund the project as required and has further committed to ongoing and regular engagement with Cork Chamber and the region to ensure a transparent and cohesive rollout of the project.  A further consultation on the emerging preferred solution will take place in March 2015 and before then Cork Chamber will be working with Cork City Council on some specific aspects of the project to ensure a suitable yet aesthetically pleasing solution is delivered in key areas of the City.
