Currently at the seventh round of negotiations, these took place from Tuesday 18 August to Friday 21 August 2020 in Brussels.  


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Database
 

The Irish Exporters Association has launched a database of companies in Ireland that are producing personal protective equipment (PPE), including companies that already produced PPE as well as companies that have repurposed operations to produce face shields/visors, masks, gowns and aprons and hand sanitiser.

Business Feedback Survey
 

This is the latest in the series of Chambers Ireland surveys which gathers feedback and opinion from the business community, and we ask for your continued participation and support. This results will inform our advocacy work for the coming months as continue to represent your interests on national and local platforms. 

 

To date, the data which has been derived from these surveys has underpinned Chamber advocacy in a number of areas including; extending the Commercial Rates waiver; in getting support from the central fund to assist the local authorities which are suffering a budgetary short fall; in shifting the government’s focus from loans to grants, for creating a grant fund for sole-traders, helping to include proprietary directors in the altered EWSS which is to commence early September.

Irish Business and Biodiversity Project
 

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation is asking businesses for their input on a new survey, part of the Irish Business and Biodiversity Project, which is examining how business contribution to Ireland’s national biodiversity objectives can be enhanced.


MacCurtain Street Public Transport Improvement Scheme
 

Cork City Council plans to carry out road network and public realm improvement works on MacCurtain Street and a number of roads & streets in the city centre. This consultation will close to observations on the 11th September. To view the plans for the scheme please see <HERE>.

 

As always, we encourage you to make a submission to this process. A submission can be as long or as short as you like and feel appropriate. Cork Chamber will be including a submission on this scheme and we also invite your comments to be considered as part of this.
