There’s a lot happening, and a lot more planned for the Cork region.

Now, as you pass the Dunkettle Interchange you can see activity starting on the upgrade. Cork Chamber have held meetings with Transport Infrastructure Ireland to relay the concerns of business and commuters as this project gets underway. Here we would like to keep you posted and will relay project updates as they are received. The upgrade is due to be completed in early 2022 with main works commencing in Q1 2019.

Currently there is an Advance Site Clearance Contract progressing and this should reach substantial completion before Easter. Completion of the Site Clearance will in turn facilitate Archaeological Investigation and resolution in advance of the Main Works. We encourage you to also sign up to the newsletter. As the upgrade project progresses, there are plans to have a website and app providing real time traffic updates, with the use of variable message signage on approach routes.

On the N22 Macroom/Ballyvourney Project, an Advance Environmental Works Contract is about to commence, with the aim to prepare the site to the greatest extent possible for the Main Works.
