Trade Mission to La Rioja (Spain) for Wine and Specialty Food Importers, 7th-8th May 2014

La Rioja's Employers' Federation / Federacion de Empresario de la Rioja (FER), in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network, has organised a reverse trade mission to Logroño in the La Rioja area of Spain, one of Spain’s principal agro food regions. The event, which takes place 7th-8th May, will target wine and specialty food importers and distributors for foodservice and retail. The working language of this mission will be English.

La Rioja is home to a number of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products such as Rioja Wine, Serrano Ham, and ChorizoRiojano. A total of 37 vineyards and 25 food producers from the Rioja region have confirmed their participation in the event. Bilateral meetings will take place in Logroño on 7th May and corresponding buyer visits will take place on 8 May.

Distributors and importers of wine, central purchasing bodies, food chains, hypermarkets, supermarkets, foodservice buyers and Spanish food importers are invited to attend this trade mission.

Travel and lodging costs to Logroño will be 100% covered by FER. *However importers who previously attended the 2013 edition of the event will incur a cost of €350 per delegate. If an importer cancels his or her place on this trade mission after 8th April then the cancellation cost of €350 will be borne by the importer.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 15th March. For an application form and for further information, please contact Eimear@corkchamber.ie
