Mad Men Marketing Ball 2016

It’s the final week to get your tickets to the annual Marketing Institute of Ireland Cork. This year’s Ball is Mad Men themed and is sponsored by Cork’s 96fm & C103 and in aid of Enable Ireland Cork Branch, is set to be a glamorously themed 1950s/1960s evening for the marketing and business community of Cork and its environs. The event, hosted at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island on Saturday April 9th will be layered with top class entertainment, fabulous food, networking and most of all, marvelous Mad Men style. There will also be ample opportunity to win sensational prizes in aid of the Enable Ireland Cork, the charity that has been providing services for over 50 years in Cork to children and adults with physical disabilities.
1916 Exhibition Hurling Match followed by John Egan Memorial
Date: 10th April Time: 3pm - 11pm Venue: Mardyke Cork & Reardens Bar Cost: Free Admission
On Sunday 10th April at 3pm, The Mardyke will play host to a re-enactment of the 1916 Munster Hurling Final between Cork and Tipperary. The teams will comprise of players drawn from past and present will wear replica playing gear from 1916, that has been specially commissioned for the occasion and the game will be played under 1916 rules. Our special guest on the day is the legendary Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh who will speak about the evolution of hurling and cumann luthchleas gael since 1916.

1916 – Panel Discussion with special guests Gabriel Doherty (UCC), John Borgonovo (UCC) & Honor O’ Brolchain (Joseph Plunkett’s grandniece) with crowd participation. The panel discussion will focus on World War 1 & Tom Kettle, Cork in the Rising, and Joe Plunkett who is Honor O’Brolchain’s grand uncle, and a direct descendant of St. Oliver Plunkett.
