Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Cork Chamber’s New Policy Committees
The Chamber undertook a strategic review of its operational and governance structures in November 2011 to support the development of its Strategic Plan 2012-2014. In order to further the Chamber’s input within the policy arena, the Strategic review analysed Chamber Policy Committees and made key recommendations. The Chamber is in the process of implementing these structures and has, as part of this process disbanded its 2009-2011 policy committee structures.
Under the new governance structures, two new committees, an Economic & Enterprise Committee and a Transport & Infrastructure Committee will be established. These will be supported by a range of sub committees with focus on specific policy issues arising from the work and identified needs. A number of policy working group teams will be established as necessary to contribute to policy submissions as they arise.
The Chamber is seeking expressions of interests from members for the committees. While places are limited, the Chamber is also establishing a panel of experts and invites expressions of interest from members whose skills and expertise may match the requirements of future sub committees/policy working groups.
If you are interested in participating on the committees (or being included on the Chamber’s panel), please submit the following details:
- Your name & contact details
- The organization/group you represent
- The committee you would like to be considered for
- A short biography (two paragraphs) outlining the skills/expertise that you could contribute to the work of the policy committees or sub committees.
Please forward your expression of interest to Siobhan Bradley, Policy & Research Manager by October 19th at 5pm.
Finally, the Chamber would like to thank all committee members for the generous contributions they have made to its policy work throughout the lifetime of its 2009 – 2011 committee structures. The Chamber welcomes all expressions of interest and thanks all members for their interest and contributions to their policy work.
