Europe at work for Irish SMEs
The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and the EU Commission are jointly organising a Single Market/SME Event which will take place in the Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin on 1st November 2012. This event will address the topic of Irish SMEs and the Single Market. The event will be a precursor to Ireland’s hosting of the EU Presidency beginning 1 January 2013 and will highlight the importance of creating a European environment that promotes growth and jobs and therefore helps our SMEs to innovate and internationalise. This is a free event, however places are limited.

Save the date - Female Entrepreneurship event!

On Wednesday 24 October Paula Fitzsimons will be speaking at an event organised as part of the Chamber's Female Mentoring project.  Paula will be addressing the issues around whether Irish women have untapped entrepreneurial potential, referencing the findings of the recent Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2011 report, and highlighting the supports available for female entrepreneurs through programmes such as Going for Growth. The event will also offer early-stage female entrepreneurs the opportunity to arrange a short one-to-one meeting with a mentor, in order to ask advice on a specific aspect of their business.  For more information or to register your interest in this event, contact: Katherine@corkchamber.ie
