New Cork-Zurich Route Opens, Providing Further Connectivity to Mainland Europe
Cork Chamber is delighted to welcome Swiss International Air Lines to Cork Airport, which will provide a new twice weekly service between Cork and Zurich from June to September. Speaking as the inaugural flight landed, Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber said: “With this new route to Zurich, Swiss visitors will arrive right here on our doorstep. Ensuring that more people fly directly into Cork is key to growing the number, spend and length of stay of tourists in the city and county.” In the past few months we have seen the number of trips to Ireland from mainland Europe grow by 2.2% which is hugely important to both the national and local economies. Tourism in Cork already supports 19,000 jobs and contributes more than €800m to the local economy every year.
