Launch of the 2015 Transition Year Business Projects
|
The Transition Year Business Projects Awards is an initiative of Cork Chamber and the College of Business & Law, UCC and are kindly sponsored by BNY Mellon, a global investments company and major employer in Cork. The Awards aim to foster entrepreneurialism in students by encouraging them to develop collaborative business related projects with their peers and write about their experience of their Mini Company or School Bank. The 2015 competition pays tribute to George Boole whose bicentenary is being celebrated this year. Boole was the first Professor of Mathematics at University College Cork and is described as the ‘fore father of the information age’. Students participating in this year’s competition are requested to submit a 1,500 word project highlighting how their Bank/Mini Company experience mirrored George Boole’s entrepreneurial ability and creative genius.
The prize for this year’s winning team is €1,000 for their school and €500 and €250 for those schools in second and third place. For more information contact Claire.
