Dear Chamber Member,

This week, we look forward with hope and determination to a strong business period ahead. Recent job announcements, business expansions and relocations are encouraging and signals that Cork maintains a strong reputation as an excellent location for business, and that confidence remains strong in the market despite the current challenges.

We announce the three exceptional finalists in the SME category of our Cork Company of the Year Awards 2021, with thanks to our sponsors Vodafone Ireland and media partner the Irish Examiner. The Cork Company of the Year Awards 2021 will take place on May 26th and we will announce the finalists for remaining 2 categories, Large and International on the next two Wednesdays.

Our economy is reopening steadily, and with Government's announcement last week, businesses now have timeframes to aim for. Further clarity on business supports and international connectivity will be required to give business necessary certainty in their decision making, and we will persist in our role of advocacy on these issues.

Our new inter-city CONNECTS networking series has kicked off and is a great way to strengthen your network with members of Chambers in other city regions. We welcome you to join us as we meet with Galway and then Waterford Chamber members in the coming weeks. It is timely also, as many return to work, to remind you that our Skillnet team are here to support you with your training needs.

I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event and welcome you to contact me directly on 087-9471858 or by e-mail HERE to discuss any issues affecting your business. We are here to represent you.

Warm regards,

Conor Healy

CEO

Temporary Export made easy

An ATA Carnet is like a 'passports for goods'. It allows fast, trouble free temporary export and importation into over 75 countries belonging to the Carnet scheme.  They can be issued for multiple trips and are valid for one year. Without an ATA Carnet it would be necessary to go through each country's Customs procedures for the temporary admission of goods. Temporary admission under cover of ATA carnets applies to goods, which will be re-exported in the same state in which they were imported.

You can use an ATA Carnet for the following categories of goods:

  • Commercial samples
  • Professional equipment
  • Goods for presentation or use at trade fairs, shows, exhibitions
