Dear Chamber Member,

I hope you and yours continue to stay safe and well.

It has been encouraging to see some positive indicators from Government over the last week in terms of reduced transmission rates of Covid-19. Our front line healthcare teams can care for those who do become unwell, but each of us has the power to keep large numbers well by continuing to adhere to Government advice.

That being said, we are acutely aware that the public health measures have numerous challenges for the business community in Cork and we at the Chamber are here to support you. We continue to engage with Government and national bodies to represent your interests as we move to prepare for the medium to longer term planning in the coming weeks.

Since our last e-bulletin

  • Government announced updates to the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme <READ MORE HERE>
  • Revenue has also updated its guidance on employer eligibility for this scheme, which you will find on our dedicated Business Support webage <HERE>.
  • Our Dedicated Business Supports page is updated frequently as more supports are developed. However the Department of Business Enterprise and Innovation has published a downloadable, printable version which we have also hosted on our page <HERE>

To-date, 43,000 employers have availed of the scheme, supporting some 255,000 employees. We welcome your feedback on the ease of application process and the effectiveness of the scheme for your business and your employees.
