Cork Chamber invites you to email Michelle no later than Wednesday Oct 9 with your comments for consideration in the Chamber submission on the issue.
This consultation will close to direct responses on October 15. A principle enshrined in the Climate Action Plan is that of a ‘just transition’. In particular, the Department is keen to obtain a perspective on the challenges associated with the availability of property insurance (home and business) and possible responses to this issue as well as responses to the prospect of higher cost of and/or greater insurance policy restrictions. Over the last decade, Cork has incurred over €150m in damages from the 2009 and 2014 flood events alone, with associated uncertainty and difficulties for businesses and homeowners to secure insurance.
