Cork innovates launches INBusiness INCork 2013 Showcase. The leading showcase for entrepreneurs, innovators, startups and small business, INBusiness INCork will take place on 14 November 2013 at City Hall, Cork.  Hosted by Cork innovates, this event promises to be a ‘must-attend’ for anyone interested in business and entrepreneurship. Attracting a large audience last year, Cork innovates flagship event has ambitions to further develop the event this year, to drive the culture of entrepreneurship that exists in the Cork Region.

Nominations are now open for this year's Friendly Business Awards. Organised by JCI Cork, Cork Chamber, Evening Echo and Silversprings Moran Hotel  the awards recognise businesses in Cork who offer outstanding customer service. Applications can be made online or by using the paper application forms available in the Evening Echo.

From 1 February 2014, existing national payments schemes will be closed down, following which euro denominated electronic payments will be processed through new SEPA schemes. By that stage, all national direct debits and credit transfers must be SEPA compliant. This will include everything from staff payroll to paying creditors or receiving electronic euro payments from customers within SEPA. National Sort Codes (NSC) and bank account numbers will be replaced by Bank Identifier Codes (BIC) and International Bank Account Numbers (IBAN) for all euro denominated electronic payments.
