Ocean Wealth Summit 2019
 

With a particular focus on international cooperation, Our Ocean Wealth Summit 2019 welcomes a myriad of international business and political leaders from around the world to Cork on 9 & 10 June.

 

Former US Secretary of State John Kerry will be a keynote speaker at the event, which discusses the unique challenges and opportunities of small island nations, island life and connections to the ocean. 

 

Network and meet marine sector partners and shape Ireland's blue economy.


Enhancing Your Environment
Little Island Commuter Travel Survey Launched
 

Cork Chamber is working with the National Transport Authority - asking Little Island employers to contact Michelle O’Sullivan in the Cork Chamber team no later than the 21st May to participate in the NTA Workplaces programme.

 

The programme invites businesses to sign up, and kicks off with a commuter travel survey for business employees in Little Island. The survey seeks the active involvement of all businesses and commuters to the island to have their opinions heard on their current commuting experience and their preferences for public and sustainable transport commuting.

PSYCHED Award
 

Cork Chamber is delighted to receive a certificate of recognition for the second year for our ongoing work in promoting mental wellbeing in the workplace.

 

PSYCHED is an initiative of Healthy Cities and Counties, supported by the Health Service Executive, University College Cork, Cork City Council, Cork County Council and community workplace partners. The aim is to get workplaces PSYCHED about mental health and wellbeing! This workplace mental health promotion awards scheme is the first of its kind in Ireland.

 

The Charter on a Psyched Workplace was also launched on the evening.

CMATS: €3.5bn Transport Strategy for Cork
Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy

Detail of this €3.5bn transport draft strategy for Cork was revealed on Tuesday. This plan includes 8 new suburban rail stations, future light rail, Bus Connects and investment in walking and cycling infrastructure. This plan will transform commuting and life in Cork.

 

The plan is open for consultation for a 6 week period. Cork Chamber will be making a submission to the NTA and welcome your views. Please email Sarah Foley.

The Port of Antwerp, in conjunction with the Belgian Embassy and Flanders Investment and Trade, are hosting a Trade and Logistics Road Show event in Cork on 29th May in the Port of Cork

 

With a focus on logistics, how to mitigate supply chain risks post Brexit and direct shipping routes to continental Europe, this event should be of particular interest to manufacturing companies and transport/logistics companies.
