Have Your Say: Upgrade of the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy road

Cork Chamber is currently assessing the economic arguments for the upgrade of the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy road and it is critical that we obtain the views of the business community as part of this assessment. In this light, we would be most appreciative if you could provide your views on the importance of the N28 by completing a brief survey before Friday 14th February which will help Cork Chamber progress the upgrade of this key piece of enabling infrastructure for the Cork region.

The survey can be accessed via the following secure link HERE

If you have any queries in relation to the survey or the assessment generally, please contact William H. Batt (whbatt@indecon.ie) at Indecon.

Fancy a Personal Coach??

The experience on our Dale Carnegie – High Impact Presentations programme is the closest you can get to having a personal coach. This course will sharpen your presentation ability to perfection with a small class, a supportive environment, intense work and outstanding results.

Learn the skills of Business Coaching with our Certificate in Business & Executive Coaching Leadership course. Coaching is about unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their performance and this course will help you develop the skills to cultivate individual performance in others.

Dale Carnegie Programme - High Impact Presentations

Course Dates: 13th & 14th March

Member Rate: €950.00

Trainer: Walter Bradley, Dale Carnegie Ireland

Communicators get ideas across with enthusiasm and poise. A presentation is one of the most important tools you have in business for getting things done.

Whether you're persuading colleagues, selling a client, energising a team or showing an idea to senior management, the power of your presentation makes the difference between success and failure. With so much riding on your presentation ability, you won't want to miss this opportunity to sharpen it to perfection.

The experience in this programme is as close as you can get to having a personal coach.

You begin presenting from almost the moment you walk into the class. You present at least seven times over the course of 2 days. Your presentations are videotaped and evaluated. You get expert, one-on-one coaching at the end of each presentation.

The class is small

The environment is supportive

The work is intense

The results are outstanding

This programme will illustrate the following:

1) Creating a Positive First Impression

2) Increasing Credibility

3) Presenting Complex Information

4) Communicating with Greater Impact

5) Motivating Others to Action

6) Responding to Pressure Situations

Presentation skills training through our High-Impact Presentations programme will benefit managers who have some prior public speaking training or experience. It is particularly useful for executives who speak in front of groups, sales people and anyone who meets the press. This is a more advanced presentation skills training seminar and is not recommended for those new to public speaking.

Because of the one-on-one coaching, class size is very limited. BOOK NOW to ensure your place in this great experience.

Coaching is about unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their performance.

This programme is designed to provide those with responsibilities for developing workplace competencies with the skills needed to develop individual performance in others. It is designed to create an understanding of the organisation and workplace context within which performance and individual career development takes place and it will provide the skills, knowledge and tools required to carry out effective coaching in the workplace.

Specific features of this newly revised programme include

(a) an exploration of the Co-Active Coaching model (course book provided);

(b) enhanced practical coaching applications; and

(c) an individual MBTI Personality assessment designed to provide participants with significant understanding of the psychology of workplace relationships.

All participants are required to attend a pre-course information session on the 25th February which will be held in the Cork Chamber (2.00 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.) The trainer, Pat Lyons, will introduce you to the course and what you can expect from him and indeed, what is expected from you during the course.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will:

  • Understand the distinctive nature of coaching as an intervention designed to enhance workplace competencies and career advancement
  • Learn how to use a range of coaching models
  • Understand the organisational context of coaching
  • Have learned how to set goals for individual development
  • Be in a position to build powerful coaching relationships
  • Understand the non-critical, non-judgemental and confidential nature of the coaching relationship
  • Have acquired the skills of rapport building, active listening, systematic questioning, feedback and empathy
  • Have acquired an understanding of how personality and individual learning styles impact on the workplace learning environment
  • Have developed personal effectiveness as a coach
  • Be able to manage a coaching programme and evaluate the effectiveness of coaching as a development tool

This course is ideal for anyone who would like to learn the core skills of Business Coaching whilst also gaining a qualification which is on the National Qualification Framework in Ireland (FETAC Level 6).
